Project Overview

Drone21 was entrusted with the task of documenting the construction of the new helipad at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, a vital addition to the hospital’s infrastructure that will support life-saving air ambulance services. This project was critical not only for the hospital but also for the city of Sheffield, marking an essential upgrade in emergency medical capabilities.

Our Role

Throughout the duration of this project, our team made multiple site visits to meticulously capture the construction process using aerial photography and videography. Our goal was to provide Pacy & Wheatley with comprehensive visual documentation that reflected each stage of the build, from groundwork to the final touches.

Our expertise in aerial media allowed us to offer a unique perspective, providing high-resolution images and dynamic video footage that showcased the helipad’s development over time. We worked closely with the construction team to ensure every key milestone was recorded.

Challenges and Solutions

Documenting a live construction site presents unique challenges, especially in a hospital environment where safety is paramount. We adhered to all health and safety regulations, coordinating closely with the on-site team to schedule our visits during the safest and most convenient times. Additionally, weather conditions posed occasional delays, but our flexibility and dedication ensured we captured all necessary footage on schedule.

Results

The final output included a comprehensive collection of images and videos, documenting the entire construction process. These materials have been used by Pacy & Wheatley for internal reviews, promotional purposes, and as part of their project portfolio.

We also reached out to print media companies to further highlight this significant project. As a result, the helipad project and our photography were featured in Access Point magazine, adding to the visibility and recognition of this vital development.
